This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct a geographically dispersed Cyber Consulting Services division that encompasses Information Security Governance, Cybersecurity Architecture, and Offensive Security.
• Accelerate business growth beyond the cybersecurity services market while ensuring gross profit, margin, utilization, delivery quality, and client outcome expectations are met.
• Manage operating performance in areas such as revenue, gross profit/gross margin, utilization, backlog, capacity, project economics, forecasting, and engagement health.
• Develop workforce plans that balance FTE capacity, necessary skills, backlog, utilization, projected demand, and consulting economics.
• Enhance revenue from internally delivered services through FTE capabilities and selective use of subcontractors.
• Oversee the subcontractor and third-party delivery strategy, which includes partner selection, economic considerations, quality, capacity, and performance metrics.
• Lead, nurture, and hold accountable managers and individual contributors across various cybersecurity domains.
• Take charge of succession planning, leadership development, performance management, hiring strategies, career growth, and employee retention.
• Establish systems for resource forecasting, engagement governance, project assessments, quality control, utilization management, and delivery escalations.
• Maintain executive oversight of significant consulting projects and step in when delivery quality, project economics, client satisfaction, or contractual obligations are jeopardized.
• Create, refine, and phase out consulting services based on demand, performance, market fluctuations, technological advancements, and scalability.
• Define and enhance consulting methodologies, delivery standards, costing models, level-of-effort frameworks, and repeatable engagement structures.
• Challenge Principal-level consultants and practice leaders regarding technical direction, methodology, service relevance, delivery quality, and capability enhancement.
• Collaborate with Client Success Management, Sales, and pre-sales teams on strategic projects, capacity planning, client requirements, and technical sales support.
• Develop technical resources to assist Sales and pre-sales in identifying, positioning, and qualifying cybersecurity consulting opportunities.
• Engage with CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and other executives during strategic projects, escalations, briefings, and sponsorship activities.
• Foster collaboration among governance, architecture, and offensive security teams to deliver integrated consulting services.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military background.
• At least 12–15 years of experience in cybersecurity with progressively increasing leadership duties.
• Significant leadership background in cybersecurity consulting, advisory, professional services, or a similar client-facing security organization.
• Proven experience leading managers and senior individual contributors in geographically distributed teams of over 20 members.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary cybersecurity organizations that encompass governance, security architecture, offensive security, or similar consulting areas.
• Financial accountability experience for consulting or professional services organizations, including revenue, margin, utilization, capacity, and project economics.
• Familiarity with fixed-fee, T&M, retainer, or similar professional services models.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with Sales and pre-sales teams while maintaining a vendor-neutral consulting stance.
• Functional knowledge of SOX, AICPA SOC Reporting Standards, ISO27001, PCI, NIST, HIPAA, and related methodologies.
• Experience in developing workforce plans that balance permanent employees, demand, utilization, specialized skills, and external delivery capacity.
• Experience managing subcontractors or resources from third-party delivery services.
• Direct experience working with senior client executives and serving as an escalation point or executive sponsor.
• Strong grasp of cybersecurity consulting across GRC, security architecture, offensive security, application security, and cloud security.
• Technical expertise sufficient to challenge Principal Consultants on methodologies, technical strategies, service design, delivery quality, and emerging requirements.
• Capability to convert demand and backlog into hiring, development, subcontractor, and capacity decisions.
• Proven track record of enhancing utilization and margin without compromising delivery quality.
• Experience in establishing repeatable consulting services, including methodologies, scope, level-of-effort estimates, costing, staffing models, and delivery standards.
• Ability to assess when services should be expanded, redesigned, standardized, or phased out.
• Aptitude for building collaborative teams across technical disciplines and developing managers.
• Executive communication skills suitable for advising senior client stakeholders and managing challenging delivery or commercial discussions.
• Experience working in a remote or geographically distributed delivery organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for client engagements and internal meetings.
• Preferred: Experience in AI Security consulting or enterprise AI security risk.
• Preferred: Background in service portfolio development.
• Preferred: Experience in developing technical enablement for Sales and pre-sales teams.
• Preferred: Speaking experience at cybersecurity conferences, client events, executive briefings, or external forums.
• Preferred: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, business, or related fields.
