Senior Salesforce Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Manage daily operations of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, which includes installation, configuration, and patch management.

• Oversee database health, performance, and job scheduling, escalating concerns to senior DBAs when necessary.

• Carry out routine backup and recovery tasks while assisting with periodic disaster recovery testing.

• Facilitate database user access requests, role management, and security audits, adhering to agency policies.

• Aid in data migration efforts for cloud modernization and data center consolidation initiatives.

• Develop and refine basic to intermediate SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.

• Ensure precise documentation of database configurations, schedules, and standard operating procedures.

• Address database-related incident tickets in ServiceNow and engage in root cause analysis.

• Take part in an on-call rotation for after-hours database support as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 4 years of experience in administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.

• Solid understanding of database backup, recovery, and fundamental performance tuning concepts.

• Expertise in crafting SQL queries and troubleshooting standard database issues.

• Knowledge of database security and access control measures.

• Familiarity with ITSM ticketing and change management protocols.

• Capability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Eligibility to obtain public trust clearance.

• Preferred: Experience within a federal government IT setting.

• Preferred: Understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST guidelines.

• Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database certification, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS RDS or cloud-hosted database environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
