Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bolivia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable web applications utilizing Ruby on Rails along with contemporary development methodologies.

• Create and integrate secure, reliable, and high-performance RESTful APIs.

• Design, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL databases while also working with NoSQL solutions such as MongoDB and Redis.

• Troubleshoot production challenges and enhance application performance, scalability, and stability.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to establish requirements and deliver high-quality features.

• Take ownership of features from start to finish, ensuring seamless integration across components and teams.

• Develop fast, reliable, risk-based tests, and validate integrations across teams.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to engineering standards.

• Contribute to architectural discussions, technical choices, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Engage in code reviews and assist in establishing engineering best practices.

• Keep abreast of Ruby, JavaScript, and cloud technologies, suggesting enhancements and optimizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Strong proficiency in Ruby programming and experience in developing scalable web applications.

• Proficient in JavaScript and experienced with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js, React.js, or Angular.

• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database design, management, and optimization.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL data storage solutions.

• Experience in designing, developing, consuming, and integrating RESTful APIs.

• Practical experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Familiarity with application debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Advanced proficiency in English.
