Senior Risk Analyst – Interest Rate Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Oversee second-line evaluations of intricate or significant topics within TRMO or FRRO.

• Create independent assessments and suggestions based on data, policies, and regulatory expectations.

• Prepare formal documentation of review outcomes and present findings to team leaders and management.

• Assist with thematic reviews and efforts related to policy interpretation.

• Identify opportunities to improve oversight methodologies and tools.

• Comply with relevant compliance and operational risk controls in alignment with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

• Uphold M&T internal control standards, ensuring timely implementation of internal and external audit points alongside any issues raised by external regulators as necessary.

• Foster an environment that promotes belonging and embodies the M&T Bank brand.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

• Aid in the oversight of market risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, capital planning, capital calculations, resolution planning, or regulatory reporting.

• Act as a subject matter expert in critical oversight areas.

• May lead cross-functional initiatives or serve as a contact point for risk domain topics.

• May provide guidance to junior analysts on specific projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, along with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and at least eight years of relevant professional experience.

• Advanced understanding of financial principles and regulatory compliance issues pertaining to the banking sector.

• High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.

• Results-driven and focused on delivery; capable of producing high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.

• Ability to utilize critical thinking skills effectively.
