Senior Research Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Define and guide the scientific strategy for foundation models in medical imaging as part of the ML Capabilities programme.

• Monitor and assess developments in machine learning and generative AI that are pertinent to radiology and multimodal imaging.

• Create and prototype innovative model architectures for multimodal medical imaging data.

• Develop experimental systems to test research hypotheses and evaluate progress towards scientific objectives.

• Establish and uphold benchmarking frameworks across various clinical and technical tasks.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to convert research advancements into implementable solutions.

• Lead the writing of scientific publications and contributions to conferences that communicate the results of DeepHealth research.

• Engage with external research partners, including those from Imperial College London.

• Mentor researchers and contribute to the maintenance of research quality standards.

• Document methodologies, experiments, and findings to ensure reproducibility, facilitate review, and promote knowledge transfer.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related discipline (required).

• Strong record of publications in leading machine learning venues, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR (required).

• Proficiency in deep learning and generative models (required).

• Experience in designing and evaluating machine learning systems (required).

• Familiarity with multimodal learning (preferred).

• Background in medical imaging or healthcare AI (preferred).

• Experience in mentoring or managing research projects (preferred).

• Adherence to data privacy, compliance, safety, and confidentiality standards.

• Compliance with all local, regional, and national employment laws.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
