This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with both ongoing and forthcoming externally funded research focusing on apprenticeship policies, employer incentives, and workforce development interventions.

• Enhance research inquiries and causal estimands.

• Assess treatment and comparison-group designs.

• Implement Difference-in-Differences, event-study, synthetic-control, or similar quasi-experimental analyses.

• Collaborate with RAPIDS / Apprenticeship.gov and utilize other administrative datasets.

• Merge BLS, Census, state workforce, and labor-market data.

• Critique methodology and identify potential threats to identification.

• Assist in preparing grant proposals and pre-analysis plans.

• Conduct or oversee empirical analyses if the project secures funding.

• Contribute to academic papers, research reports, and policy publications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Ph.D. or advanced doctoral training in economics, public policy, sociology, education, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred.

• Proven experience in applied research.

• Familiarity with large administrative or longitudinal datasets.

• Proficient in R, Stata, Python, SQL, or similar research tools.

• Excellent written communication skills and strong methodological judgment.

• Academic affiliation is appreciated but not mandatory.
