This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Identify and address open challenges hindering Protocol Learning at scale, including issues related to communication efficiency, convergence amidst churn and staleness, heterogeneity, and resilience against malicious actors.
β’ Publish research findings in top-tier venues.
β’ Collaborate with the engineering team to incorporate research methodologies into live training sessions.
β’ Enhance decentralized training and deployment of large models on consumer-grade devices via the internet.
β’ Conduct research aimed at scaling from the 8B run to frontier-scale models.
β’ PhD in machine learning with publications in prestigious conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
β’ Practical experience with large-scale distributed training and compression techniques.
β’ Proficient programming skills in PyTorch.
β’ A conviction that Protocol Learning represents a viable approach for collective, trustless, and sovereign AI.
β’ Experience in foundation model pre-training, post-training, or reinforcement learning is a plus.
β’ Background in proprietary, open-weight, or open-source AI labs is advantageous.
β’ Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
β’ Comfortable collaborating across different time zones.
β’ Significant equity ownership for key technical contributors, in addition to a competitive base salary.
