Research Assistant – AI Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Generate routine and on-demand reports

• Utilize standard tools and software to analyze data

• Assist in data cleansing to maintain accuracy and prepare data tables

• Oversee basic data collection and data entry tasks

• Manage specific assignments and establish processes to ensure effective and efficient study activities

• Conduct literature reviews to aid faculty research initiatives

• Design and format academic papers and publications

• Support Principal Investigators in crafting paper summaries for policy briefs or other platforms

• Transform design concepts into functional prototypes in collaboration with the research team

• Engage in iterative testing and refine features based on user feedback

• Collaborate with APIs to integrate external services into the application

• Develop and enhance components that track user engagement and aid continuous improvements

• Implement logic for proactive guidance and responsive system interactions

• Create and evaluate features within an interactive conversational system

• Execute other assigned responsibilities

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

• Additional education may be considered in lieu of required experience, and extra related experience may compensate for required education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, according to the JHU equivalency formula

• A keen interest in intelligent interfaces or human-computer interaction

• Understanding of user flow design, system logic, or lightweight tracking systems

• Experience in deploying applications using popular platforms or tools

• Familiarity with database management practices

• Experience in designing or developing AI conversational agents or interactive dialogue systems

• Proficient programming skills, such as Python or JavaScript

• Experience with APIs

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a research team
