Senior Research Contract Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Negotiate and draft contracts for clinical research studies.

• Manage Confidentiality Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, Nonconforming Subcontracts, Master Service Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, and Data Transfer Agreements.

• Act as a senior member of Huron’s Research Office team.

• Lead initiatives for stakeholder alignment and training sessions.

• Mentor and enhance the technical skills of team members.

• Contribute to practice development projects and ensure alignment of the organization's perspective with industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. work authorization is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in research administration and/or legal experience related to contracts.

• Proficiency in managing complex, high-stakes contracts, including Clinical Trial Agreements.

• In-depth knowledge of contract law, particularly concerning research agreements.

• Ability to articulate complex contract details and negotiation results with clarity and precision.

• Experience in establishing clear expectations and addressing potential concerns in advance.

• Strong analytical skills for thorough analysis of intricate contract clauses.

• Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders.

• Experience in championing and leading change for ongoing process enhancements.

• Understanding of federal regulations pertinent to clinical research, including NIH regulations governing NIH-funded inventions.

• Background in research or healthcare compliance.

• Experience in an administrative or business office setting within a university, hospital, or research institute, especially regarding complex contract management.

• Demonstrated leadership in stakeholder engagement and training activities.

• Capability to mentor and cultivate technical skills in others.

• Proficient in managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Ability to achieve high utilization and throughput targets without diminishing quality.

• Involvement in practice development initiatives and awareness of industry trends and contractual intricacies.
