Senior Regional Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +11 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the creation of operational strategies and ensure excellence across various locations.

• Offer expert technical guidance while optimizing maintenance and engineering processes.

• Supervise engineering team members across multiple plants and oversee Project Engineering teams and projects.

• Manage direct reports within Reliability, Strategic, Automation, and/or Project Engineering disciplines.

• Ensure that priority projects and capital/expense plans are effectively managed and adequately resourced.

• Guide and engage in equipment comparison tests, FATs/SATs, master plans, and the exploration of new equipment opportunities.

• Oversee plant utilities and process discipline in partnership with the Infrastructure Group.

• Manage an annual capital budget of up to $50 million.

• Collaborate with Plant Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify opportunities for enhancing operational performance.

• Identify gaps in M&E processes and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple plants.

• Cultivate a culture of improvement focused on cost savings and process optimization.

• Refine and enhance the Engineering Excellence assessment process.

• Oversee production technologies and implement technical improvements.

• Ensure plant teams are equipped to troubleshoot significant outages and complex equipment issues.

• Establish engineering standards and resource scheduling that align with processes.

• Develop and implement programs, policies, and practices for safe, high-quality food production.

• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local engineering codes and regulations.

• Lead cross-functional teams to address quality issues and facilitate knowledge transfer.

• Inspire and develop engineering teams.

• Collaborate with HR on leadership development, performance management, and workforce engagement.

• Promote workplace safety, open communication, empowerment, and employee recognition.

• Direct, coordinate, and evaluate the team while supporting hiring, training, work assignments, and problem resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field, along with 8+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in team management/development or project leadership is necessary.

• Capability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design challenges.

• Proficient in Project Management.

• Skilled in Contract Administration.

• Ability to interpret national codes and standards.

• Strong knowledge of engineering economics.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Willingness to travel to other locations up to 50% of the time.

• Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques relevant to food processing and the meat industry.

• Previous experience managing multi-million dollar projects with extensive scopes.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Respectful, approachable, and team-oriented, with a knack for building strong working relationships and fostering a positive work atmosphere.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.

• Supervisory experience encompassing interviewing and hiring, employee training, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving issues.
