Senior Refuel Floor Specialist – Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage BWR Refuel Floor maintenance operations, which include Reactor Disassembly, Reassembly, and In Vessel Maintenance.

• Ensure the safe implementation of intricate projects and tasks associated with BWR 2-6 Refuel Floor outages.

• Handle all project aspects from Initial Task Order (ITO) through to On-Time Release (OTR).

• Direct project delivery planning, transition strategies, risk assessment, risk reduction, and contingency plans.

• Guide and mentor multidisciplinary and multicultural teams made up of GEH staff and contingent workers, including craft labor.

• Directly oversee both unionized and non-unionized personnel engaged in BWR Refuel Floor outage maintenance activities.

• Assist in the development of commercial proposals by providing technical insights on labor quantities, hours, tooling, and logistics.

• Build and maintain relationships while engaging with senior management from customers and suppliers on commercial, execution, technical, and compliance matters.

• Contribute to Product Line initiatives including proposal creation, product development, growth strategies, and training development and delivery.

• Offer expertise in reactor maintenance, in-vessel tooling, and GEH original equipment manufacturer (OEM) equipment.

• Ensure that high-quality outputs align with customer expectations, business protocols, and regulatory standards.

• Promote adherence to standard GVH processes across projects and ensure compliance with procedures.

• Execute additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with 5-7 years of experience in BWR Refuel Floor Outage Maintenance activities, or a High School Diploma with at least 8 years of experience in the same field.

• Prior experience serving as a Refuel Floor Lead Technical Director, Refuel Floor Project Manager, Outage Manager, or a similar role in supporting Refuel Outage maintenance activities.

• Background in Project Management.

• Willingness and ability to travel over 70% of the time to both domestic and international customer locations.

• Readiness to support off-season initiatives, including Spent Fuel Pool cleanup and Dry Cask storage projects.

• Capacity to instruct GVH Technical Training courses.

• Ability to meet Fitness for Duty criteria and site security requirements to gain and retain unescorted access to U.S. and international nuclear facilities.

• Capability to operate in radiation-controlled and radioactively contaminated environments.

• Ability to successfully pass a respirator fit test and physical examination.

• Willingness to work 12 hours daily, 7 days a week during field project execution.

• Proficiency in managing effectively under high-stress situations.

• Previous experience overseeing the preparation and execution of Refuel Floor outage scopes.

• Broader nuclear experience encompassing plant operations and/or maintenance tasks.

• Experience with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) maintenance activities.

• Background in executing Spent Fuel Pool Cleanup and Dry Cask Storage projects.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

• Experience in commercial aspects or proposal development and cost estimating.

• Extensive knowledge regarding nuclear power plant refueling, maintenance, inspection, and modifications.

• Familiarity with BWR and PWR vessels and components, Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS), and Containment Buildings.

• Proficient in computer skills with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, P6, PLM, and Oracle ERP effectively.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and leadership capabilities.

• Keen attention to detail and ownership of outputs.

• Highly organized and self-motivated individual.

• Eligibility to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if necessary.
