Senior Quantitative Analyst – Trading Risk, Fraud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and develop backend infrastructure, monitoring tools, and detection algorithms to identify toxic flow, latency arbitrage, and abusive trading behaviors.

• Utilize established systems to investigate both trading and non-trading activities, detect suspicious actions, and document findings.

• Evaluate existing and new trading products and promotions for potential fraud or abuse risks, and suggest mitigation strategies.

• Classify clients to facilitate A-book/B-book decision-making and enhance profitable execution results.

• Take ownership of the entire process from raw data extraction and hypothesis testing to the production deployment of monitoring and alerting systems.

• Identify process inefficiencies and develop new logic to enhance automation and minimize manual intervention.

• Provide mentorship on technical and analytical methodologies as the team expands.

• Report directly to the Head of Risk with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a trading/FX/CFD brokerage setting, specifically in a quantitative, risk, or analytics capacity.

• Proven experience in independently creating and managing production-grade tools, dashboards, or systems (not merely utilizing existing ones).

• Strong understanding of FX/CFD products, trading conditions, and execution mechanics.

• Knowledge of fraud and abuse patterns in trading, including toxic flow, latency arbitrage, and manipulation.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Ability to work with significant ownership and minimal supervision; proactive and self-motivated.

• Familiarity with Python and/or SQL for data analysis and system development (preferred).

• Experience with A/B-book risk models, transaction cost analysis, or execution analytics (preferred).

• Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements (MAR, FCA, CySEC, ASIC) (preferred).

• Proven track record of mentoring junior analysts (preferred).
