Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and continually enhance automated test suites utilizing Cypress and JavaScript.

• Define and implement test automation strategies for intricate web applications.

• Create and execute end-to-end, integration, regression, and functional tests.

• Conduct API testing to confirm integrations, business rules, data consistency, and system behavior.

• Collaborate with developers, Product Managers, and fellow QA engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Engage in requirements analysis and technical discussions to identify risks and quality concerns early.

• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features, bug fixes, and vital business processes.

• Identify, document, track, and verify defects, offering troubleshooting procedures and technical insights.

• Utilize Grafana and Sentry to monitor application performance, analyze logs and errors, investigate failures, and assist in incident resolution.

• Examine production issues and take part in root cause analysis.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Oversee test execution, analyze failures, and enhance test reliability and stability.

• Minimize manual testing through automation while preserving exploratory testing methodologies.

• Validate application behavior and data across different environments and configurations.

• Advocate for QA best practices and elevate engineering and quality standards.

• Mentor and assist other QA engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and software testing.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Cypress and JavaScript test automation.

• Proficient in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable automated testing frameworks.

• In-depth knowledge of end-to-end, integration, regression, functional, and API testing.

• Experience in testing modern web applications and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with software testing methodologies, QA processes, and software development lifecycle practices.

• Experience with REST API testing and API/integration validation tools.

• Understanding of databases and the ability to validate data using SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration.

• Hands-on experience with Grafana and Sentry for monitoring, troubleshooting, error analysis, and incident investigation.

• Capability to analyze application logs, errors, metrics, and system behavior.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, Product Managers, and stakeholders.

• Capacity to take ownership of feature quality from development through to production.

• Proficient in English.

• Nice to have: Experience with Node.js and the JavaScript ecosystem.

• Nice to have: Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL.

• Nice to have: Experience with AI-assisted development and testing tools.

• Nice to have: Experience in performance and load testing.
