Senior Python Developer, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop a private cloud solution for a governmental body in a Western European nation.

• Design, create, test, and launch new backend applications.

• Evaluate and enhance existing backend infrastructure applications.

• Collaborate with architects, functional designers, and other specialists on system and application architecture.

• Transition workloads into the new environment.

• Provide ongoing support for the platform once it is live.

• Contribute to future engagement phases by estimating scope, offering technical insights for pre-sales documentation, and suggesting improvements.

• Advance towards taking ownership of technical decisions, guiding solution direction, mentoring engineers, and engaging in discussions regarding the future of the solution.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial experience with Python.

• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and the software delivery lifecycle (GitLab).

• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Robot Framework and Pytest.

• Experience with containerization.

• Background in Linux system administration.

• Understanding of infrastructure components including firewalls, reverse proxies, forward proxies, and networking (IPv4, IPv6).

• Consulting mindset: evaluate the business objectives before selecting a solution, challenge client requests with justifiable reasoning, and work with ambiguous scopes.

• Capability to establish and nurture client relationships.

• Experience with Kubernetes (Helm, Kustomize, GitOps) is an additional asset.

• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault and Terraform is an additional asset.

• Experience with OpenStack is an additional asset.

• Background in developing highly automated public cloud solutions is an additional asset.

• Experience working in a dedicated team or T&M model with an international client is an additional asset.

• Experience in managerial positions such as Tech Leader, Team Leader, or Coordinator is an additional asset.

• Experience as a Pre-sales Engineer or in a pre-sales capacity is an additional asset.
