This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

šŸ“‹ Description

• Manage moderate to intricate homeowner property insurance claims.

• Conduct investigations into claims through both phone and field inquiries.

• Gather statements from insured parties, vendors, and witnesses.

• Assess coverage and damages, differentiating between claims and established facts.

• Clearly communicate benefits, coverages, and the claims process both verbally and in writing.

• Resolve moderate-complexity coverage concerns.

• Evaluate and ascertain claim values based on property damage data.

• Negotiate settlements within authorized limits to finalize first claims.

• Update production reports in the database and maintain claim files using company platforms, including CACS, HUON, HOC, and GUIDEWIRE.

• Manage expenses within assigned responsibilities.

• Verify, interpret, and resolve coverage by collecting information to confirm policy applicability.

• Address audit-related issues and collaborate with both internal and external departments.

• Attend and engage in legal proceedings as necessary.

• Respond promptly and effectively to customer inquiries and issues.

• Travel locally to inspect accident scenes or assess first-party homeowner losses.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 4-6 years of previous claims handling experience is required.

• 4-6 years of experience in property claims administration is preferred.

• 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.

• Familiarity with best practices and procedures in claims administration.

• Moderate understanding of insurance principles, fault assessment, negligence, and subrogation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle and building repair processes and third-party liability matters.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, general computer software, and claims management software.

• Moderate leadership capabilities.

• Strong organizational and planning skills are necessary.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

• A valid driver's license, an acceptable record from the Department of Motor Vehicles, and minimum state-issued liability insurance are required.

• An insurance/claims adjuster license may be mandated in specific states.

• The ability to travel locally and utilize a company vehicle for field tasks may be necessary.
