Senior Project Manager – Heavy Duty Combine Cycle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution of Simple and Combined Cycle projects within the Heavy Duty Gas Power sector.

• Manage the entire project lifecycle, from contract signing through to fulfilling contractual responsibilities.

• Act as the main point of contact for customers on assigned projects.

• Lead customer engagement, negotiations, and resolution of issues.

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, contractors, and vendors.

• Take ownership of the comprehensive execution of large, complex, non-turnkey, product/equipment-only, and combined cycle projects.

• Collaborate with the ITO Commercial Manager to develop early execution strategies and transition projects to execution phase.

• Organize contract reviews to ensure alignment on requirements, scope, and obligations.

• Manage project execution utilizing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost principles.

• Maintain full accountability for P&L, including revenue, contribution margin, and cash flow.

• Drive project performance metrics and address trade-offs related to cost, schedule, performance, and risk.

• Create and manage risk and opportunity registers along with mitigation strategies.

• Advocate for GE Vernova’s Safety Toolkit among project teams, partners, and subcontractors.

• Make risk-based decisions leveraging both internal and external inputs.

• Cultivate expertise in project execution and/or technical disciplines.

• Analyze business challenges and implement best practices to enhance products, processes, or services.

• Lead innovative problem-solving efforts in manufacturing, engineering, and production settings.

• Utilize operational, engineering, and product management techniques across interconnected workstreams.

• Collaborate with partner functions to resolve cross-functional challenges and execution limitations.

• Provide leadership to project teams and resources, either directly or indirectly.

• Assist Functional Project Managers with escalations.

• Present project, business, and technical solutions to senior leadership.

• Influence without direct authority within a matrix organization to ensure cohesive execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 8 years of Project Management experience in Energy, Construction, or large capital project arenas.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.

• Proven experience and understanding of execution costs and estimates for large capital projects.

• Certified Project Management Professional.

• Graduate of the Field Engineer or Project Management Leadership Program.

• Capability to manage multiple phased projects simultaneously and independently.

• Strong customer orientation and ability to build robust relationships.

• Experience in engaging and influencing senior-level leadership.

• Strategic mindset, problem-solving skills, and financial acumen.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Proficient presentation skills with the capacity to convey complex information succinctly.

• An inclusive approach with robust interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Ability to make independent decisions, manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment, and effectively interact at all organizational levels.

• Experience using data and lean tools and technologies for strategic, operational, and project efficiencies.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
