Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive Oracle Database projects, infrastructure, cloud migrations, modernization, and transformation initiatives for global clients.

• Guide projects through phases including assessment, planning, design, migration, testing, cutover, hypercare, and transition to operational status.

• Manage multiple simultaneous projects/programs with an overall portfolio valued between $5M and $10M.

• Take ownership of project scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, risk management, dependencies, quality assurance, governance, and customer obligations.

• Oversee project financials encompassing budget tracking, forecasting, invoicing, revenue/cost visibility, resource utilization, Service Delivery KPIs, and team timesheet evaluations.

• Conduct customer meetings, project reviews, steering committees, executive reporting, risk management, and handling escalations.

• Navigate complex multi-vendor settings involving customers, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, partners, subcontractors, and internal teams.

• Manage SOW obligations, milestones, deliverables, change controls, and change orders.

• Work with various commercial models including Fixed Price, T&M, milestone-based, and Managed Services.

• Collaborate with Oracle DBAs, cloud architects, infrastructure engineers, application teams, security personnel, and migration specialists.

• Support AWS, Oracle, and Azure migration/modernization funding initiatives by monitoring milestones, deliverables, documentation, and completion criteria.

• Ensure the seamless transition of migrated environments to Managed Services and steady-state operations.

• Potentially oversee a portfolio of Managed Service Provider (MSP) clients alongside implementation projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• 10-15 years of experience in IT Project/Program Management, ideally within IT Consulting or Professional Services.

• Extensive experience with Oracle Database and infrastructure migrations from on-premises to AWS, OCI, and/or Azure/GCP.

• 5+ years of experience across Azure, OCI, AWS, and Engineered Systems (any combination).

• Strong technical grasp of Oracle Database architecture, migration techniques, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, high availability/disaster recovery, backup/recovery, and production operations.

• Experience managing project/program portfolios valued between $5M and $10M.

• Proven track record in managing customer-facing consulting projects and multi-vendor delivery environments.

• PMP certification or an equivalent recognized certification is mandatory.

• Familiarity with AI/Generative AI and automation, including practical implementation in project delivery, reporting, productivity, or operations.

• Must possess authorization to work without current or future employer sponsorship.

• Proficient in Project Management tools such as Jira, Fresh Service, Microsoft Project Plans, or similar.

• Well-versed in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.

• Experience with Oracle Database Managed Services and Infrastructure Operations.

• Knowledge of 24x7 production support, SLA/KPI management, Incident/Problem/Change Management, Major Incidents, RCA, and ITIL practices.

• Experience managing migration cutovers, hypercare, and transition to Managed Services.

• AWS/Azure cloud certifications and/or ITIL certification are preferred.
