Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of medium to large-scale projects and programs across one or more technical disciplines.

• Define workstreams, estimates, project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and criteria for success.

• Act as a trusted consultant, ensuring solutions and delivery strategies align with client objectives and business outcomes.

• Build and maintain relationships with executives, Sales, Service Managers, engineers, customer teams, and external partners.

• Influence decision-making, foster consensus, and convey complex information in a clear manner.

• Validate project scope and estimates; negotiate adjustments to costs, scope, effort, and timelines.

• Evaluate dependencies and impacts while establishing mitigation strategies to reduce client risk.

• Manage project profitability, budgets, resource allocations, actual versus planned hours, expenses, invoices, and financial reporting.

• Ensure the fulfillment of Statement of Work commitments and conduct quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Oversee the procurement and scheduling of equipment, software, licensing, and outside services.

• Identify, document, communicate, and mitigate project, operational, and political risks and issues.

• Facilitate internal and external discussions to tackle challenges and uphold accountability for project outcomes.

• Develop and implement communication plans and documentation, including schedules, status reports, quality plans, closure summaries, budgets, and risk plans.

• Lead both live and virtual meetings, documenting decisions and follow-up actions.

• Guide complex cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.

• Coordinate business change management, delegate and inspect work, and mentor project and program managers.

• Utilize formal and Agile project management methodologies and tools, including JIRA and ADO.

• Enhance PMO templates, tools, and engagement methods; document lessons learned and share industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a computer-related field required, along with 6+ years of experience OR 10+ years of relevant work experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading medium and large-scale projects within a professional services setting.

• Willingness to work on weekends and/or outside regular hours as needed to accommodate client requirements.

• Experience in project management or agile consulting across various technology stacks (e.g., Cloud, Security, Infrastructure).

• Ability to support presales activities and identify new sales opportunities.

• Proven experience contributing effectively within virtual teams.

• Proficient in managing projects involving multiple technologies.

• Demonstrated accountability for project outcomes, fiscal responsibility, and team leadership.

• Familiarity with one or more formal project management methodologies.

• Proficient with tools such as Microsoft Project/Office.

• Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in presenting technology recommendations from a business-oriented perspective.

• Ability to articulate complex topics to stakeholders and anticipate client or project needs.

• Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

• Willingness to travel on average 25% of the time.

• Capacity to understand, remember, and implement oral and/or written instructions.

• Strong organizational, prioritization, multitasking skills, and common sense.

• PMP and/or Agile certification(s) is advantageous.

• Understanding of the ITIL Framework is a plus.
