Senior Product Manager, PolicyCenter

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of a designated area within PolicyCenter, overseeing everything from customer discovery to launch and adoption.

• Manage the discovery–delivery cycle by engaging with carriers, documenting issues, drafting specifications, collaborating with engineering and design teams, and assessing outcomes post-launch.

• Provide evidence and a clear perspective to inform the Policy roadmap and prioritization process.

• Assess how AI/LLM capabilities can enhance underwriting and policy workflows.

• Establish trusted relationships with underwriting, product, and IT leaders at carrier partners.

• Collaborate daily with engineers and architects on project scoping, sequencing, and trade-offs.

• Cultivate technical fluency in areas such as rating engines, data models, integrations, and cloud delivery decisions.

• Coordinate with Product Managers across BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, Guidewire Cloud Platform, and integrations related to rating and underwriting.

• Work alongside field and support teams to address production satisfaction issues.

• Assess incoming customer issues to determine the appropriate response, whether that be a fix, configuration guidance, or the development of a new feature.

• Establish and utilize success metrics, including quote-to-bind time, straight-through processing rates, underwriting cycle times, renewal retention, and customer satisfaction levels.

• Collaborate effectively with senior product managers and the product leadership team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in product management.

• Proven experience with enterprise B2B SaaS products catering to large clients.

• Direct experience in P&C insurance is preferred, especially in areas such as policy administration, underwriting, rating, forms, endorsements, renewals, or quoting.

• A successful track record of delivering impactful features from problem discovery through to user adoption.

• Technical fluency in complex policy administration applications.

• Ability to read and understand API contracts.

• Capacity to analyze data models and rating logic effectively.

• Competence in engaging in meaningful design discussions with senior engineers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in translating customer language into product specifications and engineering details.

• Familiarity with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar core insurance platforms is preferred.

• Experience with AI/ML or agentic features in production products is a plus.

• Background in cloud/SaaS migration and familiarity with large installed bases of on-premises clients is advantageous.

• Experience working with underwriting, actuarial, or product management stakeholders at a carrier is beneficial.

• Previous roles as an engineer, solutions architect, business analyst, or implementation consultant on core insurance systems are a plus.
