Senior Product Manager, Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete Platform product suite roadmap, which includes REST APIs, Console, CLI, SDKs, Terraform provider, ISOs, Billing, Account Activity, Audit Logs, Regions, IAM, Sub Accounts, Admin, Instance Templates, Custom Images, Startup Scripts, SSH Keys, and Support Tickets.

• Establish Vultr's platform and developer experience strategy in alignment with the infrastructure roadmap, reliability objectives, and customer requirements.

• Enhance the customer-facing platform experience across APIs, Console UI, CLI, and SDKs.

• Define aspects such as API versioning, deprecation policy, rate limiting, pagination, error handling, and authentication workflows.

• Lead the development of the web-based Console control plane experience in collaboration with design and frontend engineering teams.

• Maintain ownership of the Terraform provider, CLI, and SDKs, ensuring that programmatic tools remain up-to-date with API modifications.

• Manage account governance and management products, encompassing Billing, IAM, Sub Accounts, Audit Logs, and Admin tools.

• Oversee operational products, including Regions, Instance Templates, Custom Images, Startup Scripts, SSH Keys, and Support Tickets.

• Collaborate with engineering on API design, authentication, rate limiting, caching, SDK generation, CLI architecture, and Console frontend performance.

• Create products tailored for digital-native builders and enterprise cloud users.

• Guarantee that infrastructure and platform launches are API-first and ready for Console integration.

• Define and evaluate platform health metrics, including API availability, latency, error rates, SDK adoption, Console task completion, CLI usage, and developer satisfaction.

• Keep abreast of trends in platform engineering, API design, SDK generation, developer portals, infrastructure-as-code, IAM, and cloud developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of product management experience in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, infrastructure-as-code, or API products.

• Profound understanding of platform engineering, with experience in designing, shipping, or maintaining APIs, CLIs, SDKs, or developer tools at scale.

• Proven experience in defining product strategy and roadmaps for platform or developer-facing products on a large scale.

• Familiarity with cloud account management and governance products such as billing, IAM, audit logging, sub-accounts, or similar enterprise access control systems.

• Strong technical foundation in API design, authentication flows, rate limiting, SDK architecture, and frontend performance.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code ecosystems like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.

• A history of delivering developer-facing products that have measurable impacts on adoption, task completion time, or developer satisfaction.

• Experience with cloud provider platforms, including AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean, or Linode.

• Knowledge of API lifecycle management, including versioning, deprecation, backward compatibility, and communication with developers.

• Experience in collaborating across engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams in a dynamic environment.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
