Senior Product Manager, Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Develop a multi-year strategy that encompasses platform capabilities.

• Oversee the implementation of a unified payments architecture across processors, banks, and ledger systems.

• Manage processes concerning authorization, settlement, batching, reconciliation, funding, payouts, and refunds/recoupments.

• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Compliance, Engineering, and executive leadership to ensure timely delivery.

• Implement enhanced and outsourced ledgering capabilities.

• Enhance traceability, reporting accuracy, auditability, and efficiency in reconciliation.

• Integrate claims, payments, and financial reporting seamlessly.

• Spearhead execution of RTP, FedNow, ACH, card, and virtual card initiatives.

• Establish routing logic, controls, reconciliation processes, and multi-rail requirements.

• Elevate the experience for providers, employers, external partners, and members.

• Take ownership of integration requirements and sequencing across processors, banks, and hybrid infrastructure partners.

• Improve metrics such as authorization rates, returned payments, refunds, settlement speed, operational error rates, and transaction costs.

• Enhance platform resilience and margin efficiency as transaction volumes increase.

• Ensure payment workflows comply with NACHA, card brand, sponsor bank, audit, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, and Operations to identify and mitigate risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Product Management within the payments or fintech sector.

• Proven track record of owning product roadmaps and defining product requirements.

• Direct collaboration experience with engineering teams.

• Familiarity with B2B and B2B2C payment environments involving complex or intermediated money movement.

• In-depth knowledge of ACH, cards, payment gateways, merchant acquiring, ledgering, reconciliation, settlement, refunds, exceptions, chargebacks, and payment APIs.

• Experience in building and scaling payment capabilities with processors, banks, SaaS vendors, and cross-functional business and technology teams.

• Skill in fostering alignment among executives, technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

• Understanding of complete payment flows and the dependencies among systems, vendors, ledgering, reconciliation, and operations.

• Capability to create structure in complex or ambiguous situations, make informed trade-offs, and drive initiatives from requirements to successful execution.

• Ability to comply with relevant NACHA, card brand, sponsor bank, audit, and regulatory standards.
