Senior Product Manager – Estate Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the estate planning product team.

• Oversee the estate planning roadmap encompassing the entire eleven-step process from data collection to finalized documents and ongoing plan revisions.

• Facilitate product development in collaboration with engineering, design, data, and the development partner.

• Make informed decisions regarding product scope, sequencing, trade-offs, and release readiness.

• Establish success metrics, starting with the cycle time from intake to signed documents.

• Guide squad planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

• Identify opportunities for AI to enhance the speed, clarity, and accuracy of estate planning.

• Determine aspects to automate while ensuring that strategists, attorneys, and paralegals remain engaged where necessary.

• Oversee AI assessments and accuracy evaluations.

• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to safeguard privileged and sensitive family information.

• Enhance workflow visibility for strategists, attorneys, paralegals, advisors, and clients.

• Utilize shared capabilities of the Mercer Advisors platform instead of relying on isolated tools.

• Establish priorities and requirements for the development partner.

• Manage the relationship with the development partner, monitor delivery, identify risks, and propose solutions when timelines are not met.

• Co-manage business outcomes alongside Estate Planning leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in product management.

• Proven track record of delivering products that positively impacted business metrics, with the ability to explain measurement methodologies.

• Experience utilizing AI to address real business challenges in a production environment.

• Shipped products in sectors where accuracy and compliance are critical.

• Led cross-functional teams that include engineering, design, and data professionals.

• Managed an external development partner.

• Capable of transforming complex, multi-step business processes into actionable engineering requirements.

• Familiarity with LLM evaluation and human-in-the-loop design, including the creation and management of evaluation sets.

• Proficient in data analysis: defining metrics, interpreting dashboards, and conducting independent analyses.

• Excellent communication skills with engineers, strategists, and attorneys.

• Proactive approach towards action without sacrificing quality.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change within a dynamic business environment.

• Client-centric mindset.

• Experience in estate planning, legal, trust, or wealth management is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Availability from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional early or late hours as needed.
