This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia, +6 more states.
• Establish the core of WeTravel’s Supply Team product, evolving from early access to a platform utilized by thousands of operators.
• Oversee features from start to finish, encompassing user interviews, product design, architecture, implementation, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Collaborate with the Product team to identify user challenges, formulate solutions, and determine development priorities.
• Create maintainable frontend and backend code utilizing TypeScript/React and Ruby on Rails.
• Develop robust, monitored applications and handle incidents through on-call responsibilities.
• Guide teammates and enhance engineering practices and standards.
• Create functionalities related to quoting, supplier and product catalog, partner network, supplier onboarding, verification, payouts, supplier arrangements, commission flows, and booking marketplace capabilities.
• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, preferably full-stack.
• A strong mindset for product ownership.
• Practical experience with React and TypeScript; frontend expertise is essential.
• Significant backend experience with Python, Go, Java/Kotlin, .NET, Node/TypeScript, or Ruby.
• Experience in building and launching new products in a startup or scale-up environment, aiding growth from 0 → 1 → 100.
• Familiarity with various aspects of the technology stack and diverse problem-solving.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong systems thinking and focus on scalability.
• Experience managing production applications, including monitoring, alerting, and on-call duties.
• Outstanding communication skills with experience in multicultural, distributed teams.
• Proven experience in leading projects and mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with AI assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Legally authorized to work in the country where the job is posted.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
• Preferred: Experience with marketplaces, supplier/vendor networks, payments/fintech, travel-tech, B2B2C platforms, or quoting/booking/costing systems.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS/Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Preferred: Knowledge of component libraries, design systems, micro-frontends, or React Native.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-enabled or agentic applications.
• Preferred: Experience conducting customer interviews and user research.
