📋 Description

• Identify, frame, validate, and prioritize AI initiatives that have the potential to drive significant revenue and margin growth for the enterprise.

• Provide guidance to company leadership on which AI initiatives to pursue, the approach to take, and how to prioritize investments effectively.

• Collaborate with leaders from enterprise, SBU, finance, operations, clinical, and pharmacy to pinpoint high-value business challenges.

• Articulate opportunities based on the customers or clinicians impacted, the value offered, associated risks, required investments, and conditions for success.

• Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research to validate market and user opportunities.

• Break down problems using first principles to evaluate how AI can create value.

• Convert enterprise and SBU challenges into opportunities that yield measurable financial, clinical, and experiential outcomes.

• Advise on whether to advance, sequence, collaborate, or discontinue initiatives.

• Prioritize opportunities based on strategic alignment, value, feasibility, risk, cost, and speed to realization.

• Create business cases, investment theses, value realization models, and strategic roadmaps.

• Evaluate buy, build, partner, and hybrid options while identifying redundant investments.

• Discuss venture investments, incubation, and M&A strategies with pertinent colleagues.

• Establish success metrics and measurement tools prior to staffing efforts.

• Regularly review the AI portfolio based on evidence and phase out or reframe underperforming projects.

• Set stage gates and evidence expectations for concept, pilot, and broader implementation decisions.

• Identify necessary changes in workflow, operating models, and organizational structures to realize value.

• Collaborate with DD&AI program and technology teams on portfolio tracking and value reporting.

• Ensure alignment of recommendations with healthcare, clinical, operational, regulatory, and member or provider contexts.

• Partner with legal, compliance, privacy, information security, governance, and model risk management teams.

• Implement Responsible AI principles in investment decisions.

• Advise on where AI should automate, assist, recommend, or escalate, ensuring clear human accountability.

• Provide rigorous analyses and data-driven insights to business, clinical, product, and operations leaders.

• Communicate recommendations through business narratives, decision frameworks, and financial or outcome models.

• Align stakeholders with competing priorities and varying levels of AI fluency.

• Represent AI Strategy in discussions regarding intake, planning, and investment strategies.

• Mentor colleagues on enhancing problem-framing quality.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Generally, a minimum of 8 years of experience in strategy, product strategy, management consulting, business operations, finance, digital transformation, or a similar area within a large or regulated organization.

• Proven track record in framing business challenges, drafting investment cases, and assisting leaders in making funding, sequencing, or discontinuation decisions.

• Capability to assess value, adoption risk, implementation complexity, and total cost of ownership at a decision-making level, in collaboration with technology partners.

• A working understanding of current AI capabilities and limitations.

• Knowledge of the essentials for building exceptional products, including a comprehension of user needs and experience expectations.

• Experience operating within a matrix environment with competing stakeholders and incomplete data.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with senior business leaders, including the ability to make sound recommendations.

• If working remotely, access to cable broadband or fiber optic internet with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed.
