This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Lead the technical discovery process for strategic opportunities, aligning business objectives with measurable technical success criteria and evaluation plans.
• Design, scope, and implement proofs of concept that define datasets, metrics, and timelines.
• Develop lightweight prototypes, sample integrations, and demos utilizing Deepgram SDKs and APIs.
• Provide architectural guidance regarding accuracy, latency, scalability, cost, cloud solutions, self-hosted environments, hybrid setups, and data residency requirements.
• Conduct discussions on security and compliance across APAC, including the Singapore PDPA, Japan APPI, Korea PIPA, Australia’s Privacy Act, and India’s DPDP Act.
• Diagnose and resolve evaluation issues in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
• Create reusable samples, reference architectures, runbooks, and field guides.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects and Support to ensure post-sale continuity and facilitate expansion.
• Empower Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, and partners through effective positioning, demos, and technical validation.
• Manage customer evaluations, technical deal reviews, demos, architecture workshops, and technical wins within the first 90 days.
• Located in Australia with significant overlap to customer business hours in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and ANZ.
• A minimum of 5 years in Solutions Engineering or a comparable customer-facing technical pre-sales role.
• Professional software engineering experience in at least one programming language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Rust.
• Capability to create POCs and tools that real users can operate.
• Practical experience with modern cloud platforms.
• Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, networking fundamentals, and secure API design.
• A proven history of leading enterprise customer POCs and achieving technical victories.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both technical and executive audiences.
• Knowledge of procurement, InfoSec, and data privacy regulations across APAC.
• Willingness to travel within the region for key customer milestones; estimated travel is between 10 to 20 percent.
• Proficiency in additional Asian languages is a significant advantage.
• Preferred: experience in speech recognition, TTS, voice quality analysis, or AI agents orchestrating LLMs.
• Preferred: familiarity with SIP, WebRTC, streaming, and WebSocket integrations.
• Preferred: experience with self-hosted and hybrid deployments, Helm-based installations, and production observability.
• Preferred: knowledge of authentication, authorization, and APAC data residency matters.
• Preferred: fluency in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, or Hindi.
