Senior Power Transformers Field Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Execute on-site transformer services that include the installation of new units, corrective maintenance, and upgrades.

• Support team leaders by managing on-site resources, assigned crew members, and subcontracted services.

• Participate in daily morning briefings with crews and/or customer representatives to outline the day's activities.

• Recognize and report any EHS/HSE concerns related to the job scope.

• Assist in the operation and management of vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment.

• Help with or supervise field testing or commissioning of related units.

• Engage in the development and enhancement of standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance services.

• Offer technical support in the preparation and submission of technical documents.

• Contribute to the creation of inspection criteria alongside external and internal customers.

• Work collaboratively with clients and GE engineering to ensure proper erection, commissioning, and maintenance of power transformer systems.

• Operate support equipment as necessary.

• Assist regional and national projects through field assignments and rotational schedules.


⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• A minimum of 2 years of field experience with mechanical and/or electrical equipment.

• Mechanical experience from technical training institutes and/or military services, with demonstrated field experience, is preferred.

• Experience in leadership roles.

• Strong communication skills.

• Proficiency in IT/computer applications; familiarity with various software applications is essential.

• Capability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.

• CDL license is preferred, or the ability to obtain one.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as applicable.
