Senior Policy Principal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Advanced Energy United's initiatives in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

• Formulate and execute strategies to expedite the shift towards 100% clean energy and electrified transportation.

• Engage in legislative, administrative, and regulatory policy goals.

• Establish policy positions and achieve consensus among member companies.

• Manage relationships with lobbyists and their involvement in legislative strategy and implementation.

• Coordinate direct engagement with decision-makers, organize lobby days, educate legislators and candidates, generate earned media, and participate in legislative, regulatory, and administrative processes.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with coalition partners, allies, and legislative and administrative personnel.

• Align advocacy efforts with coalition partners.

• Produce reports, presentations, fact sheets, and other written and visual advocacy materials.

• Conduct verbal presentations.

• Collaborate with the communications team to identify earned media opportunities.

• Draft press releases, conduct media interviews, write blog entries, participate in webinars, and create opportunities to highlight advanced energy.

• Travel as necessary within Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and occasionally to other locations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Engineering, or Communications, or relevant comparable experience.

• At least five years of professional experience in legislative policy development, campaign work, or organizing within the energy sector.

• A strong interest in energy and transportation matters.

• Acknowledgment of the significance of policy advocacy in advancing an organizational agenda.

• An entrepreneurial mindset and a flexible approach.

• Capability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

• Proven experience in leading team efforts toward a common objective and delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Exceptional interpersonal relationship-building and written and verbal communication abilities.

• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

• Must be a U.S. resident; preference for candidates residing in Boston.
