This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +21 more states.
• Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers that implement CRM business logic.
• Optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for enhanced performance in a large-scale multi-tenant environment.
• Troubleshoot issues at the production database layer, trace execution paths, identify root causes, and deploy necessary fixes.
• Provide support for scheduled jobs, exports, imports, data pipelines, and integrations with external systems.
• Collaborate with Java application developers to establish clear boundaries between application and database functionalities.
• Engage in code reviews and maintain documentation related to database logic and processes.
• Identify and refactor legacy PL/SQL code to enhance performance, maintainability, and portability.
• Contribute to decision-making regarding the distinction between database and application-layer business logic.
• Support integration with contemporary data platforms and downstream analytics.
• Establish best practices for PL/SQL development, encompassing version control, code review, testing, and repeatable deployments.
• Contribute to Revolution CRM, a platform dedicated to serving nonprofit organizations.
• Over 7 years of practical experience in PL/SQL development, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, collections, and bulk operations.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a focus on complex queries, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning across extensive datasets.
• Knowledge of Oracle database internals, encompassing query execution, memory management, concurrency, and transaction processing.
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving slow queries, optimizing batch processes, and enhancing production system throughput.
• Background in multi-tenant or multi-schema environments.
• Proficiency in production troubleshooting using database logs, execution plans, and application behavior analysis.
• Competency in Linux, including filesystem navigation, log reading, and command-line utilities.
• Awareness of data security issues related to PII, data isolation, access control, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Java developers, QA engineers, and product managers.
• Experience with Agile methodologies involving sprint-based development, standups, backlog grooming, and iterative delivery.
• Preferred experience with Oracle DB on AWS or Oracle in OCI/cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with DBMS_SCHEDULER, Oracle Jobs, and orchestration of batch processing is advantageous.
• Preferred experience in data migration or modernization of legacy platforms.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git, GitLab, Liquibase, or similar is preferred.
• Experience with a structured PL/SQL SDLC is preferred.
• Background in a multi-tenant SaaS environment is preferred.
• Experience in the nonprofit or fundraising sector is preferred.
• Familiarity with Java/Oracle integration patterns including JDBC and connection pooling.
• Knowledge of modern data platforms.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Proficiency with Oracle tools like SQL Developer or TOAD.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database deployment workflows.
• Ability to work within the Eastern Time Zone.
• Must reside in or be able to work from one of the listed eligible locations.
• Option for remote work.
• Limited travel, typically fewer than five trips per year for in-person team meetings, planning sessions, or company gatherings.
