This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Oversee research studies from inception to completion, which includes inviting participants, scheduling, sending reminders, conducting follow-ups, and managing logistics.
• Facilitate approximately one significant study each month, generally involving 10–20 participants.
• Handle multiple overlapping research phases, such as recruiting participants, coordinating active fieldwork, and processing completed research.
• Refine transcripts, organize responses, tag valuable quotes, and pinpoint initial themes and patterns utilizing established LLM-assisted workflows.
• Conduct a critical review of AI-generated outputs, validate themes against original materials, and highlight inaccuracies, exaggerations, or unsupported conclusions.
• Create analysis-ready evidence packs for principal researchers.
• Manage the developer panel, which encompasses recruitment, onboarding, profile upkeep, participant matching, communication, and support.
• Evaluate onboarding experiences, documentation, code examples, and developer workflows; note areas of confusion or friction.
• Assist with the quarterly MLH Census, including processing and initial analysis of thousands of responses.
• Highly organized and dependable, capable of taking ownership of defined tasks and progressing independently.
• Proficient in managing research participant logistics from start to finish.
• Experience in utilizing LLMs with qualitative data and critically assessing outputs.
• Comfortable navigating developer tools, documentation, GitHub, and coding.
• No specific programming language or technology stack is required.
• Interest in developer tools, developer relations, technical education, online communities, or exploring how individuals learn and build with technology.
• Clear and proactive communicator who is at ease working independently in a remote setting.
• Availability to overlap with UK working hours for several hours each workday.
• Bonus: Experience in supporting research studies, surveys, interviews, focus groups, participant panels, or community programs.
• Bonus: Familiarity with MLH or DEV, experience in community management, and comfort in writing code or experimenting with developer tools.
