Senior Platform Engineer – SRE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage AWS infrastructure across various regions utilizing Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Helm.

• Take ownership of high-availability architectures, manage object storage exceeding 15PB, and implement Kafka-based event streaming.

• Drive initiatives for infrastructure cost reduction and influence multi-cloud and Bring Your Own Storage architectures.

• Create internal platform tools for local development, ensure clean deployments, and enable self-service infrastructure provisioning.

• Establish and uphold infrastructure-as-code standards and review protocols.

• Conduct security patching, perform vulnerability assessments, and enhance infrastructure security.

• Share on-call duties and manage resolutions for incidents.

• Minimize alert noise and operational challenges.

• Draft and advocate for RFCs regarding significant technical decisions.

• Collaborate with product engineers and stakeholders from the initial scoping phase to production deployment.

• Engage in engineering-wide technical presentations and discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of AWS services.

• Proficient in Terraform.

• Strong hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in a production environment.

• Experience in designing distributed systems, focusing on high availability, multi-region capabilities, and event-driven architectures.

• Capability to articulate and justify technical choices.

• Proven ability to lead projects independently and collaborate with stakeholders.

• Skilled in explaining complex technical concepts clearly and adjusting communication for varied audiences.

• A builder mindset with experience in scoping unclear topics, selecting appropriate solutions, and executing them in production.

• Approximately 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform, or Infrastructure roles.

• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, Helm, Kafka, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Temporal, and Go.

• A genuine commitment to security; while security expertise is a plus, it is not mandatory.
