Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance essential software and services for product and development teams.

• Engage with colleagues through code reviews, mentorship, and a cohesive platform strategy.

• Assist feature teams and promote the adoption of platform functionalities.

• Architect, design, and implement Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize Kubernetes clusters on GCP GKE and AWS EKS.

• Design, implement, and sustain CI/CD systems using tools like Argo CD or Atlantis.

• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security challenges.

• Develop incident response strategies and conduct post-mortem evaluations.

• Promote automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational processes.

• Collaborate with development teams to grasp infrastructure and developer experience requirements.

• Create internal platform tools, APIs, and services throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Enforce security controls, vulnerability management, encryption, compliance, security audits, and penetration testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong software engineering principles with demonstrable hands-on coding experience.

• Over 6 years of solid experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or comparable roles.

• In-depth hands-on experience with GCP/AWS, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and Terraform.

• Proven experience in creating and managing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.

• Proficiency in coding with Go or Typescript (or other relevant languages), including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD, Atlantis, or similar technologies.

• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

• Extensive experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Awareness of security best practices for cloud environments.

• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a remote and distributed team setting.

• Previous experience specifically in platform engineering projects.
