Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance core software and services for product and development teams.

• Collaborate with colleagues via code reviews, mentorship, and cohesive technical direction.

• Assist feature teams and promote the adoption of platform features.

• Design, architect, and implement Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize Kubernetes clusters on GKE and EKS.

• Create, execute, and uphold CI/CD systems using tools like Argo CD or Atlantis.

• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security challenges.

• Develop incident response strategies and conduct post-mortem analyses.

• Propel the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational duties.

• Collaborate with development teams to grasp infrastructure and developer experience requirements.

• Create internal platform products, tools, APIs, and services throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Implement security best practices, including access control, vulnerability management, data encryption, compliance, security audits, and penetration testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong software engineering principles with demonstrable hands-on coding experience.

• Over 6 years of solid experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or related fields.

• Extensive hands-on experience with GCP/AWS, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and Terraform.

• Proven expertise in constructing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.

• Proficiency in coding with Go or Typescript (or other relevant languages), encompassing data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming.

• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD, Atlantis, or similar technologies.

• In-depth understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.

• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.

• Significant experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Knowledge of security best practices applicable to cloud environments.

• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work efficiently in a remote and distributed team setting.

• Previous experience specifically in platform engineering projects.
