Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with colleagues through code reviews, mentorship, and contributions to the technical direction of the platform.

• Assist feature teams and promote the adoption of platform functionalities.

• Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, and enhance Kubernetes clusters on GKE and EKS.

• Create and sustain CI/CD systems using tools like Argo CD or Atlantis.

• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security challenges.

• Develop incident response strategies and conduct post-mortem analyses.

• Lead the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational processes.

• Collaborate with development teams to comprehend infrastructure requirements and translate them into platform functionalities and roadmaps.

• Build internal platform tools, services, and APIs throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Enforce security best practices, access control, vulnerability management, encryption, compliance, security audits, and penetration testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid software engineering principles with demonstrated hands-on coding experience.

• Over 6 years of relevant experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or similar roles.

• Proficient hands-on experience with GCP/AWS, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and Terraform.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining scalable, dependable, and secure cloud infrastructure.

• Proficiency in coding with Go or Typescript (or other pertinent languages), including knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD, Atlantis, or comparable technologies.

• Understanding of networking principles and protocols.

• Extensive experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Awareness of security best practices in cloud environments.

• Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Capability to work efficiently in a remote and distributed team setting.

• Previous experience specifically in platform engineering projects.
