Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance essential software and services for product and development teams.

• Collaborate with colleagues through code reviews, mentorship, and a cohesive technical direction.

• Assist feature teams and promote the adoption of platform functionalities.

• Architect, design, implement, test, and oversee Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize Kubernetes clusters on GKE and EKS.

• Design, implement, and sustain CI/CD systems using tools like Argo CD or Atlantis.

• Diagnose and rectify performance, scalability, security, and platform-related challenges.

• Develop incident response strategies and conduct post-mortem analyses.

• Propel automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational tasks.

• Collaborate with development teams to comprehend infrastructure and developer experience requirements.

• Create internal platform tools, APIs, and services throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Apply security measures, vulnerability management, data encryption, compliance, security audits, and penetration testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with demonstrated hands-on coding experience.

• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or similar roles.

• Significant hands-on experience with GCP/AWS, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and Terraform.

• Experience in building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.

• Proficiency in coding with Go or Typescript (or other relevant languages), including data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD, Atlantis, or comparable technologies.

• Understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.

• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

• Extensive experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Awareness of security best practices for cloud environments.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work efficiently in a remote and distributed team setting.

• Previous experience working specifically on platform engineering projects.
