Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with colleagues through code reviews, mentorship, and a cohesive technical vision.

• Assist feature teams and promote the adoption of platform functionalities.

• Design, architect, and implement Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform.

• Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor, and enhance Kubernetes clusters on GCP GKE and AWS EKS.

• Develop and sustain CI/CD systems with tools such as Argo CD or Atlantis.

• Identify and resolve platform performance, scalability, and security challenges.

• Create incident response strategies and conduct post-mortem reviews.

• Propel automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational tasks.

• Collaborate with development teams to grasp infrastructure and developer experience requirements.

• Build internal platform tools, services, and APIs throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Enforce security measures, vulnerability management, encryption, compliance, security audits, and penetration testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid software engineering principles with demonstrable hands-on programming experience.

• At least 6 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or similar positions.

• Strong practical experience with GCP/AWS, Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), and Terraform.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructures.

• Proficiency in coding with Go or Typescript, including data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming techniques.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Argo CD, Atlantis, or comparable technologies.

• Understanding of networking principles and protocols.

• Extensive experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Awareness of security best practices for cloud environments.

• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Capability to work efficiently in a remote and distributed team setting.

• Previous experience specifically in platform engineering projects.
