Senior Performance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Analyze operational and SCADA data from solar photovoltaic plants.

• Assess plant performance in relation to anticipated energy production.

• Create performance models and predictive analytics solutions.

• Detect energy losses, equipment problems, and factors contributing to underperformance.

• Compute essential performance metrics, including Performance Ratio (PR), availability, and energy performance indicators.

• Collaborate with teams from Asset Management, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Data Science, and Software.

• Assist in the automation of reporting and analytics through modern programming tools and AI-driven workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in solar photovoltaic performance engineering, asset management, or performance analytics.

• Extensive experience with PVsyst and photovoltaic performance modeling.

• Proficient in analyzing SCADA and time-series operational data.

• Strong skills in Python and SQL.

• Familiarity with solar plant KPIs, energy losses, and performance testing methodologies.

• Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.

• Solid understanding of photovoltaic systems, inverters, trackers, and solar operational processes.

• Proficiency with AI tools to enhance and optimize daily tasks, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide insights on effective AI usage and identify opportunities to improve workflows.

• Knowledge of pvlib and NREL SAM.

• Experience in Machine Learning.

• Familiarity with AWS or Azure.

• Understanding of ASTM / IEC performance testing standards.

• Experience with CMMS platforms such as Fiix, Maximo, or Sitetracker.

• PMP certification.
