This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accurately and promptly apply electronic and manual payments to maintain up-to-date A/R balances.
• Engage extensively with 835 cash files and payment-related information.
• Use payer portals to investigate remittances and address payment-related inquiries.
• Precisely record payments into cash reports and relevant systems.
• Review daily reports, including Quick Check, to ensure that payment posting activities meet established goals and expectations.
• Detect and communicate any discrepancies in payment posting or performance issues to the relevant supervisor or manager.
• Train and assist payment team members, including those located offshore, on payment processing procedures and expectations.
• Address queries and provide clarification regarding payment posting and associated workflows.
• Perform audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established processes.
• Take part in monthly A/R closing activities according to company schedules.
• Complete monthly billing and/or follow up on outstanding Medicaid and Hospice balances.
• Collaborate with billing, collections, and other revenue cycle teams to investigate discrepancies and efficiently reconcile accounts.
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and support timely, consistent payment processing.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in the revenue cycle, including payment posting expertise with a solid understanding of the payment posting process.
• Proven experience in healthcare payment posting or within the revenue cycle.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with 835 cash files.
• Proficient in utilizing payer portals to find and investigate remittances.
• Experience in processing both electronic and manual payments.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
• Experience in account reconciliation and A/R procedures.
• Capable of training, supporting, and serving as a resource for team members.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating in a remote team setting.
• Proficient in Excel, including skills in calculating, filtering, sorting, and creating spreadsheets.
• Familiar with medical billing software.
• Experienced with Microsoft 365 for Business.
• Accurate typing and calculation skills.
