This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver expert-level advice to patients regarding insurance coverage, billing, and financial assistance.
• Work in partnership with billing, commercial, and customer service teams to resolve escalated issues.
• Guide junior navigators and take part in training programs and best practices.
• Examine trends related to patient financial issues and assist in strategic planning and policy formulation.
• Navigate payor portals, websites, and phone systems to verify eligibility, prior authorization, claim, and appeal statuses.
• Support leadership in establishing a top-tier patient experience centered around financial transparency and trust.
• Actively address billing issues and maintain clear communication with patients.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify systemic challenges and propose process enhancements.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance coordination, or patient financial services.
• Proven track record of providing excellent patient experiences.
• Extensive background in patient financial navigation, healthcare billing, or insurance coordination.
• Capability to manage complex patient cases with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for patient advocacy and a dedication to enhancing the healthcare experience.
• Familiarity with CRMs like Salesforce and billing software such as Epic, XiFin, or Quadax.
• Robust understanding of health insurance plans, benefits, and coverage verification processes.
• Skill in clearly and empathetically explaining complex financial and insurance details.
• Ability to evaluate patient financial needs and suggest payment plans or financial assistance alternatives.
• Located on the East Coast.
• Availability to work from 11:30 am to 8 pm ET.
