Senior Oncology Data Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct intricate analyses utilizing specialized databases to extract patient information from electronic medical records for cancer incidence evaluation.

• Download and input manual case-finding lists into cancer registry software according to market assignments.

• Review disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and other clinical documents to pinpoint reportable cancer cases.

• Execute primary data abstraction for oncology metrics and registries.

• Sustain long-term follow-up data collection and input for patients within the cancer registry.

• Gather data for special studies related to the National Cancer Database as needed.

• Ensure the accuracy of abstraction and adherence to organizational quality standards as well as oncology regulatory requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Credential as an Oncology Data Specialist from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), to be obtained prior to hiring or transfer, is mandatory.

• Preference for registrars specializing in tumors.

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of accumulated experience.

• Successful completion of an NCRA-accredited certificate program is required, OR an associate degree/bachelor's degree, OR 4 years of relevant cumulative job-specific experience.

• Adherence to oncology regulatory standards is essential.

• High levels of accuracy in oncology data abstraction are required.
