Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate initially with seasoned cardiac CT professionals while engaging in a structured development program.

• Provide high-quality general and cardiac CT imaging services through Medneo’s mobile nationwide offerings.

• Evaluate patients’ eligibility for cardiac CT and identify any clinical risks or contraindications.

• Review heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history, and relevant medications.

• Prepare patients and clarify procedures, medication, and contrast administration.

• Safely administer glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and beta-blockers in accordance with the relevant PGD or clinical protocol.

• Conduct intravenous cannulation and safely administer contrast media.

• Identify and manage adverse reactions, including those related to contrast and complications from cardiac medications.

• Choose and modify cardiac CT protocols based on clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm, and body habitus.

• Carry out coronary artery calcium scoring and the acquisition of CT coronary angiography.

• Perform tailored gated studies, such as graft studies and TAVI.

• Utilize prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques with appropriate bespoke padding.

• Enhance image quality while minimizing radiation exposure in line with IR(ME)R regulations.

• Monitor patients throughout the process and provide post-procedure observations and aftercare.

• Keep precise clinical documentation and escalate any concerns as necessary.

• Mentor and support other Radiographers in developing cardiac CT skills.

• Travel nationally and adjust to various clinical settings and work environments.

• After completing training and achieving competency approval, independently provide a safe, effective, patient-centered radiographer-led cardiac CT service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• At least two years of post-registration experience in CT imaging.

• Experience in working with cardiac CT patients and supporting cardiac CT examinations.

• Strong understanding of CT scanning principles, contrast administration, and radiation safety.

• Familiarity with ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a clear understanding of cardiac CT workflows.

• Proficiency in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.

• Current immediate life support or equivalent emergency-response certification.

• Confidence in evaluating patients and recognizing when clinical escalation is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and take professional responsibility for clinical decisions.

• Commitment to completing the comprehensive cardiac CT training and competency program.

• Willingness to travel frequently and work across various nationwide locations.

• Valid UK driving license.

• Experience with Canon CT systems is advantageous; training will be provided.

• Prior experience with cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors, and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools is beneficial.
