Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate initially with seasoned cardiac CT professionals while completing a structured development program.

• Provide exceptional general and cardiac CT imaging services across Medneo’s mobile network throughout the country.

• Evaluate patients’ eligibility for cardiac CT and identify any clinical risks or contraindications.

• Review heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history, and relevant medications.

• Prepare patients and explain procedures, including the administration of medications and contrast agents.

• Administer glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and beta-blockers safely under the appropriate PGD or agreed clinical protocols.

• Carry out intravenous cannulation and safely administer contrast media.

• Identify and manage adverse reactions, including contrast-related issues and complications related to cardiac medications.

• Select and adjust cardiac CT protocols based on clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm, and body habitus.

• Conduct coronary artery calcium scoring and acquisition for CT coronary angiography.

• Execute adapted gated studies, such as graft studies and TAVI procedures.

• Utilize both prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques with proper bespoke padding.

• Enhance image quality while minimizing radiation exposure in compliance with IR(ME)R regulations.

• Monitor patients throughout their care pathway and provide post-procedure observations and aftercare.

• Maintain precise clinical documentation and appropriately escalate concerns.

• Support and mentor other Radiographers in developing their cardiac CT skills.

• Travel nationally and adapt to various clinical settings and working environments.

• After training and competency sign-off, independently provide a safe, effective, and patient-centered radiographer-led cardiac CT service.

⛳️ Requirements

• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• A minimum of two years’ post-registration experience in CT.

• Experience working with cardiac CT patients and assisting in cardiac CT examinations.

• Strong understanding of CT scanning principles, contrast administration, and radiation safety protocols.

• Familiarity with ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a solid understanding of cardiac CT workflows.

• Proficiency in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.

• Current immediate life support or equivalent emergency-response training.

• Confidence in assessing patients and recognizing when clinical escalation is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and take professional responsibility for clinical decisions.

• Commitment to completing the entire cardiac CT training and competency program.

• Willingness to travel extensively and work across various locations nationwide.

• A full UK driving license.

• Experience with Canon CT systems is advantageous; training can be provided.

• Previous experience with cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors, and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools is beneficial.
