Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide exceptional general and cardiac CT imaging services through Medneo’s mobile operations across the country.

• Collaborate with seasoned cardiac CT specialists while participating in a comprehensive development program.

• Evaluate patients’ eligibility for cardiac CT and recognize potential clinical risks or contraindications.

• Analyze heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history, and pertinent medications.

• Prepare patients and clarify procedures, medication usage, and contrast administration.

• Administer glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and beta-blockers safely under the appropriate PGD or established clinical guidelines.

• Perform intravenous cannulation and administer contrast media securely.

• Identify and manage adverse reactions, including those related to contrast and complications from cardiac medications.

• Customize cardiac CT protocols based on clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm, and patient body composition.

• Conduct coronary artery calcium scoring and acquire CT coronary angiography.

• Execute adapted gated studies, including graft studies and TAVI studies.

• Employ prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques with appropriate personalized padding.

• Enhance image quality while minimizing radiation exposure in compliance with IR(ME)R regulations.

• Oversee patients throughout their care pathway and provide post-procedure monitoring and aftercare.

• Maintain precise clinical records and escalate concerns as necessary.

• Assist and guide Radiographers in developing their cardiac CT skills.

• Travel nationally and adapt to various clinical settings and work environments.

• After achieving competency sign-off, independently provide a safe, effective, and patient-centered radiographer-led cardiac CT service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• At least two years of post-registration experience in CT.

• Experience with cardiac CT patients and support during cardiac CT examinations.

• Strong understanding of CT scanning principles, contrast administration, and radiation safety protocols.

• Familiarity with ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a solid understanding of cardiac CT workflows.

• Proficiency in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.

• Current immediate life support certification or equivalent emergency response training.

• Confidence in evaluating patients and recognizing when clinical escalation is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously and assume professional responsibility for clinical decisions.

• Dedication to completing the entire cardiac CT training and competency program.

• Willingness to travel widely and work at various locations nationwide.

• Valid UK driving license.

• Experience with Canon CT systems is a plus, but training can be provided.

• Background in cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors, and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools is advantageous.
