Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide high-quality general and cardiac CT imaging through Medneo’s mobile services across the nation.

• Initially collaborate with seasoned cardiac CT practitioners while undergoing a structured development program.

• Evaluate patients’ eligibility for cardiac CT and identify any clinical risks or contraindications.

• Review heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history, and relevant medications.

• Prepare patients and clarify procedures, medications, and contrast administration.

• Safely administer GTN and beta-blockers in accordance with the appropriate PGD or clinical protocol.

• Perform intravenous cannulation and safely deliver contrast media.

• Identify and manage adverse reactions and complications.

• Choose and adjust cardiac CT protocols based on clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm, and body habitus.

• Conduct coronary artery calcium scoring and acquire CT coronary angiography.

• Execute adapted gated studies, including graft studies and TAVI studies.

• Utilize prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques with appropriate bespoke padding.

• Enhance image quality while reducing radiation exposure in line with IR(ME)R requirements.

• Monitor patients throughout the procedure and provide post-procedure care and observations.

• Maintain precise clinical documentation and appropriately escalate concerns.

• Mentor and support Radiographers in developing cardiac CT competencies.

• Travel nationally and adjust to various clinical settings and working environments.

• After training and formal competency sign-off, independently provide a safe, effective, and patient-focused radiographer-led cardiac CT service.

• Report to the Regional Mobile Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• At least two years of post-registration CT experience.

• Experience with cardiac CT patients and supporting cardiac CT examinations.

• Strong understanding of CT scanning principles, contrast administration, and radiation safety.

• Experience with ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a solid comprehension of cardiac CT workflows.

• Proficiency in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.

• Current immediate life support or equivalent emergency-response training.

• Confidence in evaluating patients and knowing when clinical escalation is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to operate independently and take professional responsibility for clinical decisions.

• Dedication to completing the entire cardiac CT training and competency program.

• Willingness to travel extensively and work across various locations nationwide.

• Full UK driving license.

• Experience with Canon CT systems is advantageous; training can be provided.

• Previous experience with cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors, and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools is beneficial.
