Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate initially with seasoned cardiac CT professionals while engaging in a structured development program.

• Provide high-quality general and cardiac CT imaging through Medneo’s national mobile services.

• Evaluate patients for their suitability for cardiac CT and identify any clinical risks or contraindications.

• Review patients' heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history, and relevant medications.

• Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process, medications, and contrast administration.

• Safely administer glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) and beta-blockers in accordance with appropriate PGD or clinical protocols.

• Perform intravenous cannulation and safely deliver contrast media.

• Identify and manage any adverse reactions and complications.

• Select and customize cardiac CT protocols based on clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm, and body habitus.

• Conduct coronary artery calcium scoring and CT coronary angiography acquisitions.

• Execute adapted gated studies, including graft studies and TAVI’s.

• Utilize both prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques with appropriate bespoke padding.

• Enhance image quality while reducing radiation exposure in alignment with IR(ME)R requirements.

• Monitor patients throughout their pathway and provide post-procedure observations and aftercare.

• Ensure accurate clinical documentation and escalate concerns as necessary.

• Mentor and support Radiographers in developing cardiac CT skills.

• Travel nationally and adapt to various clinical settings and working environments.

• After training and formal sign-off, independently provide a safe, effective, and patient-centered radiographer-led cardiac CT service.

• Report directly to the Regional Mobile Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• At least two years of post-registration experience in CT.

• Experience in working with cardiac CT patients and facilitating cardiac CT examinations.

• Strong understanding of CT scanning principles, contrast administration, and radiation safety practices.

• Experience in ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a thorough comprehension of cardiac CT workflows.

• Proficient in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.

• Current immediate life support or equivalent emergency response training.

• Confidence in patient assessment and the ability to recognize when clinical escalation is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously and take professional responsibility for clinical decisions.

• Dedication to completing the comprehensive cardiac CT training and competency program.

• Willingness to travel extensively and work at various locations nationally.

• Valid full UK driving license.

• Familiarity with Canon CT systems is advantageous, with training available.

• Prior experience with cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors, and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools is beneficial.
