Senior Mobile Cardiac CT Radiographer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate initially with seasoned cardiac CT professionals while engaging in a structured development program.

• Provide high-caliber general and cardiac CT imaging through nationwide mobile services.

• After training and sign-off, autonomously deliver a safe, effective, and patient-centered radiographer-led cardiac CT service.

• Evaluate patients’ eligibility for cardiac CT and identify any clinical risks or contraindications.

• Examine heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, medical history, and pertinent medications.

• Prepare patients and clarify procedures, medications, and contrast administration.

• Administer GTN and beta-blockers safely under the appropriate PGD or established clinical protocol.

• Perform intravenous cannulation and administer contrast media.

• Identify and manage adverse reactions and complications effectively.

• Tailor cardiac CT protocols based on clinical presentation, heart rate, rhythm, and body habitus.

• Conduct coronary artery calcium scoring and CT coronary angiography acquisition.

• Execute adapted gated studies, including graft studies and TAVI examinations.

• Utilize prospective and retrospective ECG-gated acquisition techniques with suitable padding.

• Enhance image quality while minimizing radiation exposure in compliance with IR(ME)R regulations.

• Monitor patients throughout their pathway and provide post-procedure observations and aftercare.

• Ensure accurate clinical documentation and escalate concerns as needed.

• Mentor and support Radiographers in developing cardiac CT competencies.

• Travel nationally and adapt to varying clinical locations and work environments.

• Report to the Regional Mobile Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

• At least two years of post-registration experience in CT.

• Experience with cardiac CT patients and assisting in cardiac CT examinations.

• In-depth knowledge of CT scanning principles, contrast administration, and radiation safety.

• Familiarity with ECG-gated cardiac acquisitions or a clear understanding of cardiac CT workflows.

• Proficiency in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.

• Current immediate life support or equivalent emergency-response training.

• Confidence in evaluating patients and recognizing when clinical escalation is necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and assume professional responsibility for clinical decisions.

• Commitment to completing the comprehensive cardiac CT training and competency program.

• Willingness to travel frequently and work across various locations nationwide.

• Possession of a full UK driving licence.

• Experience with Canon CT systems is advantageous; training can be provided.

• Previous experience with cardiac post-processing software, ECG monitoring equipment, injectors, and advanced cardiac reconstruction tools is beneficial.
