Senior ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Design and implement AI systems that are fundamental to AssessFirst’s products.

• Create autonomous AI agents that can oversee the entire recruitment process, from sourcing candidates to qualification and compiling a documented shortlist.

• Enhance voice AI and conversational interviews by focusing on latency, turn-taking, and robustness in various accents and noisy settings.

• Develop tools for analyzing recruiter-candidate interactions, generating summaries, and offering real-time support.

• Organize information from resumes, portfolios, and transcriptions.

• Collaborate with psychometricians to design and train scoring, classification, and probabilistic modeling systems.

• Establish evaluation frameworks to assess model performance, fairness, and robustness both prior to and following production deployment.

• Work alongside the MLOps team to deploy and monitor systems.

• Create reusable services and share advancements in voice AI, agentic AI, and multimodal AI.

• Partner with ML Engineers, psychometricians, Product Managers, Tech, back-end, front-end, and QA teams.

• Report directly to the Chief Product Officer and Team Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess demonstrated experience in ML Engineering, having actively contributed to the deployment of AI models and systems in production.

• You are skilled in Python (modern, typed, and asynchronous), adhere to software engineering best practices, and have expertise in end-to-end ML solution development, from data preparation through training and evaluation.

• You are familiar with the AWS ecosystem, especially SageMaker, Lambda, and Kubernetes.

• You have experience in voice AI (ASR, TTS) or in the development of real-time conversational agents.

• You understand how to design and assess AI agents or complex systems.

• You have a solid grounding in statistics, particularly in probabilistic modeling, calibration, and thorough model evaluation.

• Experience with causal inference, experimentation, or ML fairness is a significant advantage.

• You can articulate and justify your technical decisions, even to non-technical stakeholders.

• You are inquisitive, pragmatic, and aware of the impact of AI on individuals.

• You utilize AI tools on a daily basis (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools).
