This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, researchers, leaders of professional organizations, and population-based decision makers to share scientific, medical, and clinical information.
• Act as the key clinical/scientific resource for healthcare providers within the designated territory.
• Relay accurate and current clinical, scientific, and medical information between KOLs/investigators and Medical Affairs and development teams.
• Build and sustain peer relationships with KOLs in relevant therapeutic areas.
• Engage in scientific exchanges and interactions with KOLs.
• Deliver presentations on clinical, scientific, and economic data regarding Eisai products and therapeutic areas.
• Support designated professional congresses and lead efforts for congress coverage as needed.
• Identify and communicate scientific, clinical, and research insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.
• Develop, implement, and present territory plans that align with Medical Affairs strategy.
• Stay updated on disease states, study methodologies, clinical information, and product data.
• Execute approved medical platforms, strategies, and MSL initiatives.
• Provide technical/scientific subject matter support to commercial teams upon request.
• Teach, coach, and mentor new or less experienced MSLs.
• Assist with supervision and performance evaluations while leading special projects.
• Contribute to leadership and strategic planning efforts.
• Facilitate the review and follow-up of Investigator-Initiated Studies and support Eisai-sponsored trials.
• Serve as the primary contact for external investigators submitting Investigator-Initiated Studies.
• Offer recommendations for site selection and scientific expertise for sponsored post-marketing studies.
• Lead field medical initiatives that support collaborations with professional organizations, societies, and advocacy groups.
• Advanced, terminal Doctorate level (D-level) degree in medical or health sciences (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD).
• For MSL: 0–3 years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry, clinical pharmacy, research, or related scientific/clinical experience, ideally in an MSL role.
• For Sr. MSL: at least 3 years of MSL experience in Oncology/Hematology.
• Comprehensive scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
• Understanding of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG guidelines.
• Familiarity with Eisai's desired therapeutic areas and the ability to communicate across various disease states.
• Established relationships with key opinion leaders and knowledge of institutions in relevant therapeutic areas.
• Exceptional presentation and teaching abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to assess issues and think strategically.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to anticipate, organize, plan, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Capacity to work independently while following Medical Affairs strategic direction.
• Interest and ability in coaching and mentoring less experienced MSLs.
• Skill in leading and motivating team members without direct reporting relationships.
• Ability to lead and engage in projects while balancing project demands with fieldwork.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex situations and resolving cross-functional issues.
• Strong computer skills, including word processing, slide materials, and spreadsheets.
• Established Oncology/Hematology KOL relationships.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment and commercial operations, including marketing and sales strategies.
• Willingness to travel frequently for business, approximately 60%, including air travel, overnight stays, and occasional weekend travel.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to engage in-person with HCPs and other third parties regularly.
• May be required to meet third-party credentialing and entry requirements, including vaccination attestations or proof.
