This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada, +1 more state.
• Serve as the main scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and various healthcare practitioners.
• Implement the Medical function and product strategy at Amgen as directed by MSL Leadership to deliver precise information and enhance patient outcomes.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer interactions with Opinion Leaders in obesity and related conditions, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers.
• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline.
• Present clinical, outcomes, and economic data to Population Health Decision Makers within assigned Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and institutions.
• Connect both external and internal stakeholders to broaden Amgen's outreach and patient accessibility.
• Engage in detailed scientific exchanges that align with MSL compliance standards.
• Assist in Amgen-sponsored research and potentially take on the role of study lead.
• Act as a liaison for potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research.
• Provide field insights and observations to internal stakeholders to guide Amgen's strategies.
• Lead and support activities at congresses.
• Facilitate speaker training and ensure that speakers are up-to-date with the latest data.
• Lead and/or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate effectively across Amgen field roles to foster a unified One Amgen experience.
• Mentor fellow MSLs as designated by MSL leadership.
• Fulfill administrative duties and complete training as required.
• Report directly to the Obesity MSL Lead.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR a Master’s degree with 6 years of Medical Affairs experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Preferred qualifications include a Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.; other doctoral degrees may be considered.
• A minimum of seven years in a medically related field is preferred, including at least 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
• Experience in a medically related field may encompass post-doctoral training, residencies, and/or fellowships.
• At least 2 years of experience in a medical science liaison role within a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company is favored.
• Expertise in cardiometabolic and/or obesity fields is preferred.
• Familiarity with the designated territory is preferred.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain robust relationships with external stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills for effectively relaying scientific data.
• Commitment to maintaining and enhancing clinical/scientific knowledge and expertise with the latest data and healthcare trends.
• Timely completion of administrative duties and training, including Veeva CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.
