Senior Medical Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the medical coding process for clinical trial data, ensuring precision, consistency, and adherence to industry standards and regulatory guidelines.

• Supervise the coding of medical terms utilizing standardized dictionaries such as MedDRA and the WHO Drug Dictionary.

• Work collaboratively with clinical data management, safety, and clinical operations teams to address coding discrepancies and guarantee data quality.

• Offer guidance and support to junior coding specialists, including training them on best coding practices.

• Engage in the development and implementation of coding guidelines, quality control measures, and standard operating procedures.

• Ensure the timely execution of coding tasks to align with project timelines and deliverables.

• Keep abreast of coding standards, industry regulations, and knowledge specific to therapeutic areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a life science, healthcare, or a related field.

• Significant experience in medical coding, with comprehensive knowledge of coding standards such as MedDRA and the WHO Drug Dictionary.

• Strong comprehension of clinical trial processes, regulatory standards, and industry guidelines related to coding and data management.

• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities, with the aptitude to accurately interpret and code medical terminology.

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, capable of managing coding teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments.

• Proficient in coding software and clinical data management systems (CDMS).

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to function effectively in a dynamic, global environment.
