Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Review and accurately assign medical codes to patient records utilizing ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.

• Ensure all codes adhere to established coding guidelines and regulations.

• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to resolve coding discrepancies.

• Maintain a solid understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses.

• Stay current with updates in coding guidelines and regulations.

• Meet the productivity and quality benchmarks established by the company.

• Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• An Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field is preferred.

• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience is necessary, preferably within a chiropractic environment.

• Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems is essential.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities are required.

• Capability to work independently and meet deadlines is essential.

• Comfortable with remote work and using electronic medical record systems.

• Awareness of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality is necessary.
